Xerox company ACS plans to acquire Italian, multi-lingual customer care firm, XL World, to further expand its business process outsourcing (BPO) capabilities across Europe.
ACS is a BPO and information technology services company based in Dallas, and a part of Xerox’s $22bn global enterprise.
With the acquisition, ACS will provide clients with more access to European language services to support call centre and business process operations, said ACS. In addition, XL World will broaden its services portfolio to offer ACS customer care capabilities, from social media analytics to back-office operations, said ACS.
XL World director Roberto Montandon said the company’s language capabilities broaden ACS’ diverse abilities by offering localised services to clients who require multiple linguistic resources.
"Together, we’ll be able to develop opportunities in Europe and emerging markets to grow our capabilities and geographical reach," Montandon said.
ACS said that the acquisition will help in promoting ACS’ strategy of creating a global network of BPO centres to serve clients’ global operations.
ACS Europe chief operating officer Tom Blodgett said XL World’s expertise in the European market industry complements ACS’ services.
"XL World’s expertise in the European market industry bolsters ACS’ competitive global position and complements the services we currently provide throughout the United States and Latin America," said Blodgett.
"The acquisition also expands our industry reach when combined with our recently-acquired capabilities in the insurance sector," added Blodgett.
ACS said, XL World’s Romanian facilities in Oradea and Iasi with its operations in Shkoder and Vlore, Albania, will join ACS’ 150 customer care centres.
