Enterprise cloud management software provider Abiquo has unveiled the fourth release of its cloud management software, Abiquo 1.7.

The company said that its new release includes Business Policy support that enables IT cloud administrators to set, edit and manage business policies from a single, centralised policy editor.

Other key features in this release include support for setting a range of resource limits at multiple physical and virtual levels, extended enterprise functionality and branding support for service providers.

Abiquo 1.7 Business Policy support adds the control layer to allow organisations to build a scalable cloud infrastructure embracing private, public and hybrid models.

Abiquo said with its new release, organisations can allocate virtual resources based on multiple business and IT considerations including governance, security, compliance, affinity and cost – as well as a variety of utilisation models.

The business rules can be applied at multiple levels, and customised for individual physical datacentres, racks, servers and storage, as well as virtual enterprises and virtual datacentres.

In addition, Abiquo 1.7 includes features to support global deployment by multi-national enterprises and international service providers, including the ability to set a range of resource limits, which can be applied at physical datacentre, virtual enterprise, and virtual datacentre levels in any combination.
