Wyse Technology, a provider of thin computing and client virtualisation software and hardware, has introduced a family of desktop and mobile thin clients based on the Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7 operating system.
Wyse said that the new thin clients based on Windows Embedded Standard 7 provides Windows 7 OS in a customisable and componentised form, enabling new thin client to support Microsoft SCCM-based management and the RDP 7 technologies.
According to Wyse, the enhanced Windows Embedded Standard 7 models provide connectivity to virtualised, public, and private cloud environments based on Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008 R2, Citrix and VMware.
The new clients include the Microsoft virtual remote desktop protocol, Citrix Online Plug-in with HDX support, and VMware View 4.5 support with virtual printing functionality.
This makes the new clients ideal for organisations which want a combination of broad support for cloud computing and desktop virtualisation.
The company said that the new clients include the Microsoft virtual remote desktop protocol, Citrix Online Plug-in with HDX support, and VMware View 4.5 support with virtual printing functionality.
The three new models, the R90L7, mobile X90c7 and compact C90LE7 provide security, management, and a visually rich Windows Aero experience in remote and virtual desktop environments, the company said.
