Ovi provides users access to social networks, communities and content from a single source, which also acts as a gateway to Nokia services. These services also include the Nokia Music Store, Nokia Maps and N-Gage.
Under the agreement between Nokia and Vodafone, customers will be able to use a variety of communications, internet services, content and browsing services with a range of Nokia’s premium handsets on high-speed 3G and 3G broadband networks. Both companies have also agreed that most of these handsets will be exclusive to Vodafone.
Web2.0 is all about social networking and enabling people to connect with each other in new ways. Bringing location and context awareness to web2.0 services is the next stage in the web development and Nokia multimedia computers enable people to participate to their favorite internet services on-the-go, said Anssi Vanjoki, executive vice president and general manager of Nokia Multimedia.
In order to provide more bundled services on Nokia handsets, the company has collaborated with Research In Motion Limited for software licensing on November 8, 2007. As per the terms of the agreement, RIM has granted Nokia the right to use and distribute certain BlackBerry software with Nokia products on a global basis.
