Virgin Media Business has welcomed the Conservative Party’s Small Business Manifesto, which has declared a commitment to maintain financial help for small businesses towards the costs of broadband installation.

Peter Kelly, Managing Director, Virgin Media Business, said: "Small businesses are powering Britain’s economic resurgence and it is vital to give them the tools they need to operate at the highest level."

"We welcome the on-going support for the SuperConnected Cities initiative and are playing our part in helping companies to access superfast, reliable broadband to help them to grow. Whatever the outcome of the general election we hope this commitment to small businesses continues, and the scheme is in fact extended past March next year."

The manifesto states that the Government’s SuperConnected Cities programme has delivered broadband grants to more than 14,000 small businesses in 22 cities so far.

With the programme, small businesses are eligible to claim up to £3,000 each for financial support towards installation costs. Due to its popularity, the deadline for applying for grants has been extended up to March 2016.
