Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Sandusky, Ohio, which is reported to enable customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; access the internet; and download games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.

According to the company, the new cell site improves coverage in Bay View, Ohio, and western Sandusky, along the bay. In addition, coverage is improved along State Route 2 to the north side of Bay Bridge, along State Route 269 south to State Route 101 (north of the town of Castalia), and west along US Route 6 from Edgewater Avenue to County Road 290.
