Verizon will unveil cloud-based unified communications and collaboration offerings for businesses and government agencies at the Enterprise Connect Show, in Orlando, Florida.
The company said, new offerings include Unified Communications & Collaboration-as-a-Service, which is a cloud-based commercial UC&C offering that enables businesses and government agencies to facilitate enterprise adoption of UC&C in a fixed or mobile environment with predictable per-seat pricing.
New capabilities include call transfers from fixed to mobile phones and the use of "presence" technology, such as instant messaging, to initiate audio, Web and intra-company video conference calls both in and out of the office.
The second offering, Mobile UC Client, is designed to extend business telephony offerings to mobile handsets and comes with a docking station that enables workers to replace their traditional desk phone with a single mobile device that can access advanced UC&C features, whether workers are in or away the office, said the company.
In addition, the Mobile UC Client offering provides a fixed and mobile, single-device offering, and offers a variety of features including single reach and voice mail numbers.
Verizon said that the Unified Communications-as-a-Service, can be accessed on a variety of smartphones and tablet devices from other providers to support a wide range of business requirements.
