Managed server and enterprise business hosting provider UKFAST has joined the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF), which was established in 2009 to promote trust through operational and commercial transparency within the sector.
The Cloud Industry Forum aims to provide transparency through certification to an independent Code of Practice for credible online Cloud service providers, and to assist end users in determining core information necessary to enable them to adopt these services.
Players in the cloud provisioning sector, including FrontRange, Fasthosts, Outsourcery, Scalable, Rackspace and Webroot are among the members who have founded this forum.
Being a key player in the mid market IT, UKFAST serves small and medium businesses (SMBs) and large businesses looking to broaden their Internet opportunities.
As a bandwidth provider, the company claims it guarantees 24/7 connectivity and encourages eco-friendly technology offerings.
UKFAST CEO Lawrence Jones said the Cloud Industry Forum’s Code of Practice, which encourages best practice and transparency in Cloud computing, strongly echoes their views towards customer service.
"Offering customers optimum support and excellent service is our number one priority and we can see that this is equally as important to CIF," Jones added.
CIF chairman Andy Burton said it’s great to see another key player in the UK market who is like-minded in terms of its goals.
"Through our collective commitment to the Code of Practice and self-certification process, CIF is encouraging businesses of all sizes to invest in the Cloud and its associated benefits, and we are delighted to welcome another important member," Burton said.
