Sony Mobile has launched two new Xperia smartphone models, the Xperia SP and the Xperia L, which will run on the Android 4.1 version of Jelly Bean.

The Xperia SP comes with an aluminium frame with a 4.6inch 720p HD Reality Display, while the Xperia L has a 4.3inch display. The phones are scheduled to be launched in the second quarter of 2013.

Powered by a Qualcomm MSM8960Pro dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, the Xperia SP has 8GB internal storage that is expandable up to 32GB, screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels, an 8MP, 1080p HD rear camera and a front facing VGA camera.

The device comes with LTE support for 4G Internet, NFC functionality and a 2370mAh battery that claims to offer talk time up to 10 hours along with a standby time of up to 635 hours.

Xperia L is powered by a 1Ghz Qualcomm MSM8230 dual-core processor and features similar storage capacity, while the cameras are same as Xperia SP, except the rear camera that supports 720p HD video recording.

The phone is offered with a 1750mAh battery with talk time of up to 8 hours and 30 minutes and a standby time of up to 498 hours.
