The Raspberry Pi Foundation has said that its Model A computer is available for purchase in Europe for $25.
The Model A computer has less onboard memory, when compared to the Model B which has been on sale for a year for $35.
Manufactured in Wales by Sony, the Raspberry Pi Model A features one USB port and 256MB RAM, which is half of the memory of the Model B.
Both Raspberry Pi models run the Linux operating system and the Model A does not feature Ethernet.
The company said that Model A consumes about a third of the power of the Model B, which is essential for those who run their projects from battery or solar power.
Raspberry Pi Foundation community manager Liz Upton said: "We are very, very pleased to finally be able to offer you a computer for $25.
"It’s what we said we’d do all along, and we can’t wait to see what you do with it," Upton said.
About one million Raspberry Pi computers have been sold since its launch in February 2012 and the credit-card sized micro-computer was used in a variety of projects.
