Mozilla has released the new version of its open authentication system Persona Beta 2, allowing users to use the same email address and password for different sites.
The new version includes a feature called Identity Bridging, through which users can log into Persona-supporting web sites with their existing accounts.
The system also comes with features that allow it to decouple sign-in and permission-to-publish, while offering privacy as well as security.
According to the company, the service offers better sign-in flow, less development time and reduced risk.
The new version of the Persona Beta 2 system is claimed to be twice as fast compared to its predecessor.
It will also use existing accounts and Built Into Firefox OS to offer better experience with its apps.
Persona Beta 2, developed under the project code-named as BigTent, is a server that speaks the Persona IdP protocol on one side and OpenID or OAuth on the other.
