Microsoft has admitted that very small number of its new Xbox One consoles have problems in their disc drives leading to very loud noises when inserting a disc, while some are not able to read the discs.
Customers with defective consoles are offered with free digital downloads together with a replacement console.
Microsoft said in a statement that the issue is affecting a very small number of Xbox One customers.
"We’re working directly with those affected to get a replacement console to them as soon as possible through our advance exchange program," the software major said.
"While a replacement console is on its way, we want to ensure our advance exchange customers can stay in the game."
"We will provide each of them with a free digital download of one of the launch titles published by Microsoft Studios."
Launched on 22 November, Microsoft earlier claimed sales of one million gaming consoles during the first 24 hours across the globe, surpassing the sales record set by its predecessor.
Allowing users to get multiplayer alerts while watching TV, the new console also enables watching TV while the users playing games on it.
Being offered with 22 titles and 10 games, the new console also claimed to offer better gaming experiences with voice and motion control options.
