Business and technology service company Logica has signed a new agreement to offer Microsoft ‘s Business Productivity software via Logica’s own private cloud,’Logica Local Cloud’.

The private cloud application is aimed at the public and commercial sectors and allows the clients to benefit from increased efficiency and security with regulatory compliance as the services are hosted in Logica’s local data centres.

It also combines the company’s expertise in cloud and consulting with Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Windows Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V, Microsoft System Center 2012 and Microsoft Lync 2010.

‘Logica Local Cloud’ will be released initially in the UK, Finland, Sweden and Norway, the company said.

Microsoft Enterprise Partner Group vice president Mark Hill said enterprises and government organisations can benefit from Microsoft’s productivity stack, through the Logica Local Cloud application.

"Logica’s offering is designed to give customers the flexibility to choose a cloud solution that meets their specialised messaging and collaboration needs, whether in a private, public or hybrid cloud environment," Hill said.
