Lenovo has announced to support EMC’s VSPEX programme to help small and medium sized businesses (SMB) to adopt private cloud environment easily.
The programme specifies EMC-validated technology – including Lenovo ThinkServers, to help SMBs assemble a virtualisation solution that’s pre-tested to meet the IT challenges including costs associated with supporting IT infrastructure and IT service delivery, the company said.
According to the company, the VSPEX private cloud specification features a virtualisation layer from platforms like VMware vSphere and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V, high-powered computing through Lenovo ThinkServer RD630.
Lenovo Enterprise Product Group vice president Darrel Ward said that the Lenovo ThinkServer as a core component of a validated VSPEX architecture supports virtualisation, server, and network technology to create a complete virtualisation application that enables SMBs to spend less time and money on IT infrastructure and more time on their business.
"SMBs and channel providers will benefit from Lenovo’s VSPEX private cloud solutions, which are designed to scale and perform in a simple-to-deploy, single rack," Ward added.
EMC Global Solutions Marketing senior director Bharat Badrinath said, "VSPEX enables customers to gain business value by transforming their IT with proven, simple, efficient and flexible solutions."
VSPEX application claimed to reduce capital expenditure through higher utilisation, simplified cabling and fewer network connections as well as reduces operating expenditure by consolidating management tools.
