Both products work with Ipanema’s Autonomic Networking System, which performs the complete range of application traffic management functions, including visibility, optimisation and acceleration. Ipanema says the system is used by large enterprises globally to turn their WANs into intelligent networks.
New algorithms added to its acceleration products aim to improve the response times of applications such as SAP and Oracle over the network, while the addition of zero delay processing paths will improve the experience for virtualised desktops. For real-time applications, such as video and VoIP, compression and protection against jitter and delay has been added.
The Intelligent Acceleration features use Ipanema’s Autonomic Networking System to classify data flows, intelligently inspect traffic to differentiate between critical, non-critical and recreational applications. A combination of redundancy elimination, TCP acceleration and application acceleration mechanisms are then applied to accelerate and guarantee the performance of business applications over the WAN.
