HP has launched new converged infrastructure offerings in networking, security and scalable computing, to enhance the delivery of application services to business.

The new Branch Office Networking offering is a hardware, software, application and connectivity offering that improves service delivery to remote locations.

Through an open architecture, the offering integrates technology and consolidates branch office equipment, eliminating the need for local IT resources.

The company said that its new TippingPoint security service increases network integrity by providing granular control of application access, with the ability to block access to entire websites or features across the enterprise.

The new Application Digital Vaccine (AppDV) service provides designed filters to the TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), which control access to, or dictate usage of, non-business applications.

Its granularity functionality allows clients to block access to entire sites or portions of a site, such as video downloads or third-party site surveys, to help reduce security risk and ensure network performance.

HP said that the new ProLiant SL6500 scalable system provides a single, scalable platform for hosting, web serving, cloud computing or outsourcing applications.

The new SL6500 Scalable System features a common modular architecture that can scale from one node to thousands while delivering performance of up to 1 teraFLOPS per unit of rack space.

This standard platform can be customised and tuned with the ProLiant SL390s G7 server and ProLiant SL170s G6 server to meet varying application demands, such as high-performance computing, web services, cloud computing and hosting.

The company has also introduced POD-Works, an assembly line for PODs, which are 37% more energy efficient and 45% less expensive than a traditional brick-and-mortar data centre.

HP said that the new offerings are based on converged infrastructure, which offers an open, common architecture, that allows clients to tune their infrastructure to meet the requirements of their environments.
