IT outsourcing application provider Latisys has selected HP CloudSystem to support its managed hosting and cloud service applications.

HP CloudSystem is an open platform for building and managing cloud services that provides integrated software, servers, storage and networking.

Hosting HP CloudSystem, Latisys will provide IT infrastructure applications to large enterprises, medium-size businesses and government agencies on a high-density, high-security platform that spans colocation, managed hosting, managed services, disaster recovery and enterprise cloud.

In addition, Latisys will improve customer choice with the HP CloudSystem platform, which supports hypervisors from VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V and others, enabling its customers to select a suitable application, while simplifying migration to the cloud.

With HP CloudSystem, Latisys can simplify the management of different cloud resource pools with automated provisioning to customise applications.

Latisys can address the input/output (IO) throughput demands with HP 3PAR storage, by supporting workloads of up to 15,000 to 20,000 IO operations per second (IOpS), while reducing latency, improving platform reliability and maintaining performance.

The HP CloudSystem will also help Latisys to reduce time spent on administrative tasks with HP ProLiant servers’ integrated lights-out management and monitoring capabilities.

Latisys Engineering vice president Christian Teeft said, "HP CloudSystem has enabled Latisys to meet customer demands for self-service computing while still delivering enterprise-grade performance and massive scale, helping to truly set Latisys apart."
