The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is reviewing a service proposed by Minnesota-based Lakemaid Beer that ferried bottled beer via a six-propeller drone to ice fishing huts in Wisconsin.
However, the owner of the firm was reportedly aware that it was against the law to use drones for commercial trades and thought of getting around the FAA law.
Lakemaid Beer president Jack Supple told the Daily News: "They think it’s a great idea, though they’re telling me to stop."
"I’m on the FAA blacklist for now," Supple said.
"They’re not too happy with me."
The Minnesota-based business attracted attention when it posted a YouTube video commercial that showed an unmanned aircraft ferrying from a Wisconsin bait shop and delivering a 12-pack of Lakemaid beer to a Wisconsin ice fishing cabin.
Lakemaid Beer was stimulated by Amazon’s idea of using unmanned drones for delivering packages to customers within a half hour of them placing their order, which the Minnesota-based firm used to allow ice fisher men place orders without moving onto land.
