eBay has introduced new international application for Android, which will feature new upgrades to ‘My eBay’, immediate checkout through PayPal, and voice search capabilities unique to the Android platform.
The new eBay application for Android features buyer alerts, daily deals, feedback, my eBay, member messages, sharing, payments, view sellers other items, and voice search.
Steve Yankovich, vice president of mobile at eBay, said: "The popularity of eBay’s mobile shopping applications is quickly spreading across multiple geographies. More than half of eBay’s mobile gross merchandise volume comes from outside of the US.
"As we seek to reduce friction in commerce, we are taking advantage of the unique features of each mobile platform. In the case of our Android app, we’re leveraging the Android’s voice search capabilities to make searching easier and faster."
The company said that the eBay application for Android is free and is now available in Australia, Canada and the UK through the Android Market. The application is currently available in the US.
