Dell has released new applications that are designed to help a wide range of IT organisations implement virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI).
The new applications include DVS Simplified Appliance, DVS Enterprise and DVS Simplified Desktop as a Service (DaaS).
These applications will deliver productivity benefits for end-users and IT managers.
New virtual desktop applications also help organisations benefit from advanced security, enhanced mobility and streamlined IT management.
DVS Simplified Appliance, an all-in-one desktop virtualisation appliance, is designed to eliminate traditional costs and complexity limitations associated with deploying virtual desktop infrastructures.
The integrated appliance consists of a Dell server pre-configured with virtual machines, management software and hypervisor components from Citrix installed and ready-to-run.
It also includes three years of Dell ProSupport service for hardware and software.
DVS Enterprise helps reduce key initial acquisition costs and is designed for large-scale rollouts and for more demanding IT environments. It combines the Dell 12G servers, Dell storage and Dell network components with VMware or Citrix software.
The simplified DaaS provides deployment of VDI environments by using Desktone’s Desktops as a Service (DaaS) software platform and Dell’s global datacenters and services.
The application is designed to deliver a virtual desktop platform with rapid on-boarding, scalability, self-service and self-management for the organisations ranging from small and medium businesses to large enterprises.
