DAP Technologies, a manufacturer of rugged PDA, handheld and mobile computers, has unveiled new M2000 series PDA, which is loaded with 128MB SDRAM.
The company said that the new PDA is built on Windows CE operating system, and comes with 1GB flash ROM in a device measuring 6 x 3 x 1.25 inches (155 x 82 x 31 mm) and weighing 13.4oz (380 g).
The rugged computer can also communicate wirelessly via Summit Radio wireless LAN 802.11b/g, Bluetooth and the optional GPRS/EDGE; and features a user-accessible SD slot and hot-swappable battery.
DAP said that the M2000 is sealed to IP65 and meets MIL-STD-F requirements, and is engineered to withstand multiple 1.5 mt (5ft) drops to concrete and to operate at temperatures between -4 and 122F (-20 and 50 C).
The rugged computer series offers a 3.5inches 256K color transflective LCD with touch screen and a choice between an alpha-numeric and a full-alphabetical backlit keyboard.
DAP vice president Eric Miller said that with DAP’s M2000, customers not only have choices at the time of purchase, they can add RFID modules as their needs change or technology advances.
The M2000 also features four programmable function keys and runs on a Marvell PXA270 520MHz processor.
