China TieTong Telecommunications, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Mobile, has selected Huawei to provide Quidway NetEngine5000E(NE5000E) routers for the expansion of CTTNET, a nationwide high-speed broadband IP network operated by China TieTong.
China TieTong has embarked, in partnership with Huawei, on the CTTNET national backbone project (phase 5) to expand the service capabilities of the broadband network, and, in turn, to offer better services to its subscriber base.
Huawei claimed that its NE5000E routers will methodically address the bandwidth bottlenecks that afflict core nodes of China TieTong’ s network. The router’ s resilient matrix and in-service hardware expansion (ISHE) will open up opportunities for capacity expansion of router cluster systems.
Hu Kewen, president of carrier IP product line at Huawei, said: "We believe that this project will provide the enhanced capacity, flexibility and scalability necessary to China TieTong to address the bandwidth demands of its growing customer base.
"The continued cooperation between China TieTong and Huawei will boost China TieTong’s user experience in IP broadband services, and will bring faster, better services to its subscribers."
