ChangeBASE, a provider of automated application compatibility testing, remediation and conversion, has launched its Mozilla Firefox plug-in for AOK Browse-It, the company’s browser and web application compatibility testing and reporting module.

ChangeBASE said the AOK Browse-It for Firefox plug-in ensures Firefox compatibility for web applications, and quickly and accurately identifies the areas of compatibility.

The compatibility areas include proprietary Internet Explorer calls and functions; non-standard HTML functions and event calls; non-compliant CSS functions and calls; DOM model quirks and non supported functions; and JavaScript standards compliance.

ChangeBASE chief technology architect Greg Lambert said launching the AOK Browse-It Firefox plug-in is yet another differentiator for AOK and ChangeBASE.

"By deploying multi-browser environments, organisations are enabling staff to access corporate web applications from any device. The need to ensure that the browser chosen is compatible with those applications is essential," Greg said.

"Today’s enterprises operate in a multi-faceted world. It is imperative that every application, be it native, web or virtualised, is compatible and working correctly on whatever platform the user chooses," said Lambert.

"Now with AOK Browse-It for Firefox, organisations can increase their efficiency, become more cost-effective and can ultimately help users to be more productive."

ChanBASE said the new plug-in will be available this quarter and shipped via its partner network.
