Cheaper Android One has debuted in the Indian market with $105 smartphones to be launched by domestic brands Karbonn, Micromax and Spice.
The phone will have the same 4.5 inch display, 1 GB of RAM along with 4 GB of storage which is expandable up to 32GB via SD card.
It will be powered by Cortex A7 1.3 GHz Quad-Core processor and will run on the latest 4.4 KitKat, and users will get automatic update for the next version of Android when it releases for free.
The dual SIM phones will also feature a 2MP front camera and 5MP rear camera, making it ideal for all purpose.
With Android One Google is aiming to provide good quality hardware and software at a low price in emerging smartphone markets.
The company also aims help improve internet usage, and in India Airtel users using Android One phones will be able to download apps from Google Play Store for up to 200MB for free, and enjoy YouTube videos in offline mode by saving them.
Reports suggest that after India, Google is planning to launch Android One in South Asian countries including Philippines and Indonesia by the end of this year.
