AT&T has signed a new three-year contract with Indianapolis Power & Light (IPL), a subsidiary of AES, to provide integrated network services.

Under the agreement, AT&T will link IPL locations across the state and monitor its network to optimise data communication through its managed internet service private network transport (MIS PNT) services. As part of AT&T’s IP virtual private network portfolio, PNT is claimed to provide any-to-any connectivity to link domestic sites to a single IP network that integrates new locations and applications.

According to AT&T, in addition to its MIS PNT services, it will also provide an AT&T Business Network system. With its integrated services including local and long distance under a single contract, AT&T Business Network is claimed to offer cost efficiencies and greater agility in managing IPL’s enterprise.

Ramon Eulacio, director of IPL customer and enterprise solutions, said: AT&T’s managed network solution provides IPL the security of VPN data communications and protection against disaster, allowing us to focus our efforts on providing the excellent service and customer care residents and businesses of central Indiana depend on.
