Apple has announced that it will launch the Nike+ edition of the new Watch Series 2 on 28 October.
The Nike branded smartwatch from the iPhone maker will cost $369 for the 38mm case and $399 for the 42mm version.
Similar to all Apple Watch Series 2 models, Apple Watch Nike+ has built-in GPS, which tracks users pace, distance, and route, even if they don’t have their iPhone with them.
It features a heart rate sensor, breath sensor, a workout app, activity rings and offers coaching. The smartwatch also supports third-party health apps and can share activities and achievements with friends and family.
The new Series 2 smartwatch comes with a perforated silicone band for better ventilation and sweat management.
It also offers features including message and calls, app and calender notifications, mail, and supports Siri, Apple’s iPhone-assistant. IN addition to these features, the smartwatch also supports Apple Pay and maps.
The Series 2 Watch comes in four different colours including Space Gray with black/volt colour Nike sport band, Space Gray with black/cool gray sport band, Silver with flat silver/white sport band and silver with flat silver and volt colour band.
Preorders for the Apple Watch Series 2 Nike+ are open now on the company’s website, and those orders will be shipped in early November.
Apple is releasing this watch with the intention to outdo competitors including Fitbit, Jawbone, Samsung and Sony.
Most of Apple’s competitors also have fitness trackers and applications and are trying to create their own niche place in the market.
