Apple has introduced an integrated iPhone voice-control system with cars which will allow auto drivers to use iOS hands free.

CarPlay allows iPhone users to make calls, use Maps, listen to music and access messages through voice or a touch, the company said.

Car manufacturers like Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo will premier vehicles with integrated CarPlay at the Geneva Motor Show this week while will allow drivers to use CarPlay from the car’s native interface.

The drivers can also push-and-hold the voice control button on the steering wheel to activate Siri without distraction, the company added.

With integrated CarPlay, Siri will allow drivers to access contacts, make calls, return miss calls and listen voicemails while the users can also incoming messages can be dealt with through voice commands.

Apple’s vice president of iPhone and iOS product marketing Greg Joswiak said CarPlay has been designed from the ground up to provide drivers with an incredible experience using their iPhone in the car.

"iPhone users always want their content at their fingertips and CarPlay lets drivers use their iPhone in the car with minimized distraction," Joswiak said.

"We have an amazing lineup of auto partners rolling out CarPlay, and we’re thrilled it will make its debut this week in Geneva."

Other car manufacturers which are integrating CarPlay include BMW Group, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai Motor Company, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia Motors, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan Motor Company, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Subaru, Suzuki and Toyota Motor.

CarPlay can allow drivers access music, podcasts, audiobooks and iTunes Radio through the car’s built-in controls or drivers can give voice command to Siri to select the songs.

It can also select songs from third party audio apps like Spotify and iHeartRadio.
