CSC has introduced its BizCloud VPE (Virtual Private Edition), a hosted private cloud that claims to offer enterprises with simple way to securely host applications in the cloud.

The new hosted private cloud provides dedicated compute, private network access and logically segregated storage deployed from 13 CSC cloud datacentres located at different places in four continents.

BizCloud VPE is built on Vblock Platform from VCE and it combines a converged infrastructure with security, network, resource and service management.

The new cloud improves agility by scaling on demand and expanding, contracting resources as needed, and focuses IT resources on business value versus ongoing operations.

It also mitigates investment risk, improves ROI for new business applications and frees up capital for strategic business investment.

In addition, BizCloud VPE provides a secure transition to employing cloud as a modern service delivery vector in order to simplify the enterprise journey to cloud.

CSC BizCloud, CloudCompute and BizCloud VPE are VMware vCloud Datacenter Services can make workloads portable to other cloud models as the number of workloads increases, leveraging a standardised IaaS across offerings.

VMware Cloud Infrastructure and Services vice president Dan Chu said CSC BizCloud VPE, a VMware vCloud Datacenter Service, addresses the workload-driven need for a hosted private cloud at an affordable price point.

CSC Cloud Computing and Software Services vice president Siki Giunta said larger commercial and government organisations have been choosing BizCloud and BizCloud for Government, which are dedicated private clouds on the customer’s premises and ready for workloads in 10 weeks, to eliminate long lead times for implementation and the need to budget for capital investments.

"Now, BizCloud VPE gives any enterprise the ability to choose private cloud to satisfy workload security and compliance requirements at an entry-level price point that is perfect for a single initial workload. This offering will further CSC’s mission to be the leader in providing secure enterprise workloads in the cloud," Giunta said.
