The Insolvency Service, an agency of UK government’s Department of Business Innovation and Skills has awarded a $25.7m contract to the IT services company Atos to implement company’s secure cloud service.

Under the infrastructure as service contract, which was awarded under the Cabinet Office’s Desktop 21 framework agreement, it will offer savings over five years.

Atos will provide the thin client desktop and application hosting services through its Secure Cloud Service.

The new infrastructure service is expected to provide a flexible service for 2000 users at The Insolvency Service.

Atos Secure Cloud Service will continue the use of low power devices such as thin clients in line with Cabinet Office Green Strategy.
