Adobe acquires social media platform Behance

Adobe looking to add more community features to Creative Cloud

By CBR Staff Writer

Adobe Systems has acquired privately held online social media platform Behance. The move will help the company add more community features to its Creative Cloud.

With the acquisition of Behance, Adobe Creative Cloud will enable its members to access Adobe’s creative tools and services, and create, publish and share their work across devices, the desktop and the Web.

Behance powers the portfolio display of other websites around the web, including AdWeek, RISD, and The Smithsonian National Design Awards.

Behance adds the ability to search and browse galleries on the Behance website or in their mobile app, follow and appreciate fellow creatives that users admire, and gather feedback from a public community by posting their work in progress.

It also helps users to create their own public profile, publish portfolios of their finished work and let their work inspire other creatives.

The addition of the Behance community to Adobe’s Creative Cloud integrates the private sharing capabilities with the public sharing community and enhances Behances’s ability to post Works in Progress right from the tools and services used to create that work.

It also connects Creative Cloud to the Behance community that provides a platform for hosting professional portfolios, integrates Behance activity feeds into Creative Cloud Connection, gives Creative Cloud members the ability to stay connected to the activity in the community in real time and provides full Behance ProSite access to all paid Creative Cloud members.
