Sheryl Sandberg is widely recognised as COO of Facebook, but she also shot to fame when she released her manifesto advising women on how to achieve professional success.

Lean In: Women, Work and the Will to Lead has become a staple on many forward-thinking business women’s desk since it was published in March 2013.

Sony Pictures has now acquired the rights to make the second bestselling book of 2013 on Amazon into a film.

Following the success of The Social Network, also made by Sony, it is likely that a film following Sandberg’s success will also be a hit at the box office.

However, the film won’t feature Sandberg herself. Instead, the storyline will be fictional and focus on gender disparities at work, the central theme of Sandberg’s popular book, reported Liberty Voice.

But despite not following the business antics of Sandberg, the film will stay true to her business visions as it is being written by Nell Scovell who helped Sandberg to write the original book.

Scovell also writes for popular TV series such as NCIS and Monk, so here’s hoping the success of the book will translate to the screen.
