Precise has unveiled a new version of Transaction Performance Management (TPM), which it claims to help customers accelerate performance of specified business transactions using automated storage tiering.

Precise said that it will deliver business transaction intelligence to EMC Fully Automated Storage Tiering (FAST) customers. The Precise TPM 8.8 will help customers define the best FAST policies using business transaction intelligence.

The company said that policy recommendations are based on business transaction performance data, storage access patterns and periodic business events.

Zohar Gilad, executive vice president of Precise, said: “Our customers spend as much as 75% of their time optimising storage resources, making it the most promising yet challenging area for performance improvement.

“They now have a fully automated solution to quickly align transaction performance to storage resources when and where it matters.”
