Remember all those old games from your PlayStation 1 days? Maybe you had a copy of Rayman or an early Tomb Raider game that had you addicted after school? Well it’s time to relive the 90’s, as PlayStation Now, a new streaming service by Sony, is bringing old PlayStation titles to new devices.
PlayStation Now is a cloud based service that can let users play their favourite classic PlayStation games on their TV.
The games from the three previous Sony PlayStations will be stored on cloud-based servers and streamed live to devices via then internet. Users will be able to pay for individual games or take out a monthly subscription for unlimited access to the entire catalogue of games.
It was announced at CES 2014 and a closed beta of PlayStation Now is expected to roll out at the end of the month. It should be widely available by summer.
PlayStation Now is set to work on the PlayStation 4 and Vita and on internet connected devices and Sony’s Bravia TVs.
The cloud-based gaming service allows users to save games then resume playing them from different devices.
Sony also hinted that PlayStation Now would also be able to stream TV content to various devices. Keep an eye out for more information at the end of January.
