World Wide Web celebrates birthday.

On this day, 22 years ago, (Everything I Do) I Do It For You by Bryan Adams topped the UK music charts.

Superhero action film The Rocketeer was the number one box office hit at UK cinemas, about to be toppled by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze.

Keith Curle became the most expensive British defender ever when Manchester City FC signed him from Wimbledon FC for a cool £2.5m.

And Tim Berners-Lee released files describing his idea for the World Wide Web. On this day, 22 years ago, the WWW debuted as a publicly available service on the Internet.
