It’s Friday afternoon, and most people are winding down for the weekend. Not me, though.

I’m gearing up for Oracle World 2013. It’s gonna be a biggie!

It’s always wonderful to get out to these global conferences, meeting people from all over the world – a great chance to learn, share knowledge and, of course, make new friends.

Over the five days, I hope to meet lots of people, make loads of discoveries and cover many miles marching up and down the conference halls in search of the hottest news. You really need a comfy pair of shoes for this kind of thing, so stilettos absolutely must be left at home. I won’t be making that mistake again.

Tomorrow I fly off to San Francisco for the exhibition so I’ve been especially busy making preparations, hoping that I can make my trip as productive as possible.

My schedule is already packed tighter than a Northern Line tube crammed full of commuters during London’s rush hour.

But if you’re heading to the event you should definitely drop me a line at Duncan.macrae@industryreview.com. I’ll do my best to free up some time for you and can easily be bought with an ice-cold beer.

See you there!
