Each year, children from all around the world gather round the computer screen on Christmas Eve, eagerly tracking Santa’s movements on his most important day of the year.
The North American Aerospace Defense command (NORAD) has tracked Father Christmas for over 50 years and is now partnering with Microsoft to transform its website into a more interactive and exciting place with music, games and more ways to get updates about Santa’s location on Christmas Eve.
The website has been designed for Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 11 but will work on any browser.
A touch-enabled 3D globe will light up on screen on Christmas Eve to let you know that Santa has started his long journey delivering presents. Tablet users can also spin the globe with their fingers and zoom in to get a closer look at his travels.
The new partnership has also added new Skype capabilities to the website so kids can make free calls to NORAD’s volunteers on Christmas Eve and find out where Santa is.
A truly interactive way for children to get excited about Christmas, bringing the Santa tracking into the present. It manages to make the image of a family gathering around an iPad instead of a fireplace on Christmas Eve look just as traditional.
