Nomophobia – fear of going without your phone

For some, being without a phone is as stressful as their own wedding day!

By Cbr Rolling Blog

Have you ever experienced that rush of panic when you leave for work in the morning when you realise you have left your smartphone at home?

Would you turn back and get it or would you soldier on through the day without it?

According to Frontrange, 66% of people said they wouldn’t last the day without it.

Nomophobia, they fear of being without phone, is increasingly becoming a problem and is causing stress, frustration and, in some cases, severe anxiety.

In a UK study, 53% of people said they suffered from anxiety that made them feel as stressed as a trip to the dentist or even their own wedding day when they couldn’t use their phones.

The Frontrange study found that smartphone users were more anxious when they simply couldn’t make calls or texts whereas going without smartphone features, like maps and web search, was merely frustrating.

How stressed do you feel if you ever have to go without your phone?
