HTML5 beats iOS for developers in emerging markets

Infographic highlights Apple's poor performance outside of EU and US.

By Cbr Rolling Blog

A great infographic here, courtesy of VisionMobile, that I saw pop up over on ZDNet.

It shows that, whilst mobile developers in Europe and North America prefer Android and iOS as their weapon of choice, in other regions, HTML5 is more popular than iOS.

In South Asia, South America, and the Middle East and Africa, HTML5 is the most popular after Android for developing with, with Apple’s iOS slipping down to third.

The stats certainly support the figures of Apple’s device penetration in these regions, with Middle East and Africa having the lowest amount of iOS development going on – matching the fact that it’s the least popular market for the iPhone maker.
