It was 15 years ago that Kevin Ashton, a British technology pioneer and now a project manager at Belkin’s cleantech division, first coined the term Internet of Things (IoT). Since then significant developments, acquisitions and other advancements have helped toasters, fridges and cars enabled with sensors and assigned their own IP addresses connect to the Internet.
