Data analytics takes a break in Italy

Social media reveals what tourists tweet about while in Italy.

Semantic analytics doesn’t always have to be heavy going as Sociometrica has proved with its new study of Italy’s tourists.

Using over 218,000 social media posts of travellers visiting Italy, the study, ‘Italy: Through the eyes of social media’ has revealed that digital connections and traffic nightmares were among the top concerns of tourists to Italy.

The semantic technology of software company Expert System surprisingly found that the cities of Lucca and Taormina were more talked about that tourists hotspots like Rome and Venice.
