Tough economic times are hard. The purse strings tighten, we holiday at home rather than abroad, and we have to get rid of the coveted family jet.

Wait, what?

Yes, amongst news of Blackberry’s incredible losses, job cuts of 4,500 and then a mega-buyout of £3bn by the company’s largest shareholder, we hear the sad news that Blackberry had to sell its new corporate jet.

The 2006 Bombardier Global Express was purchased by the Canadian company in July for an unknown price, but it is know that these jets can sell second-hand for around $29m.

But now, poor finances means saying goodbye to all of its corporate planes…that’s unless the new owner has a penchant for flying high.
