And the Golden Globe for best new meme goes to…

Twittersphere buzzing with boobs and photobombs from awards ceremony

By Cbr Rolling Blog

In case you missed the memo, the Golden Globes got underway in Los Angeles on Saturday and quickly became a top-trending topic on Twitter.

But in addition to the congratulations paid to the winners of the night, much of the talk of the night on Twitter was around some of the more humorous moments of the awards ceremony. I’ve rounded up the jokes of the evening that I think will be circulating the net as memes for many months to come.

Golden Globe boob jokes

It’s the easiest joke to make at the Golden Globes, but yes, most people still went there.

From the GIF of Sofia Vergara exiting her car and adjusting her dress, to pictures of The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco and Melissa Rauch grabbing their own ‘golden globes’ and the numerous jokes about Amy Adams’ globes, you can take your pick from the smut on show.

Vergara’s GIF has already gone viral, I think it will be here to stay for a while.

The ‘Fun Fact’ box broadcast on E!’s coverage of the evening bought up a fact that was, quite rightly pointed out by thousands of Tweeters, ‘in no way fun’.

The box briefly flashed up the message: ‘Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991.’

The E! Network later apologised for the ‘insensitive classification’ but their insensitivity will no doubt be used for Tweeters to insert their own inappropriate messages for the foreseeable future.

Jennifer Lawrence photobomb

Last year we had Scarlett Johansson falling down. For the beginning of 2012, Jennifer Lawrence photobombing Taylor Swift will make a bid to steal the most-overused meme crown.

The GIF is already a big hit as she creeps up the stairs behind her friend, but the crazed expression on the Oscar Winner’s face is priceless. Who else will she be Photoshopped to bomb?

Animals dress as Jennifer Lawrence
Just in case winning Best Supporting Actress and photobombing with great effect wasn’t enough, Jennifer Lawrence was a hot topic last night for a third reason: her dress.

Or more precisely, people copying her dress. The Dior created gown looked a little like a wedding dress with some black tape tied around the bust and the hips. So of course, everybody from men, to cats and dogs tried the look out for themselves.

Props to the budding fashionistas. Let’s see who else can give it a go…
