44% of Twitter accounts have never even tweeted

Report also says only 13% of all Twitter accounts have sent more than 100 tweets.

By Cbr Rolling Blog

A report by Twitter analytics site Twopcharts has revealed that nearly half of all 983.9 million Twitter accounts have never even tweeted.

Although unable to work out whether an account has been logged into, Twopcharts can track if an account has tweeted or retweeted.

A surpisingly low 13% of accounts have posted at least 100 tweets, and the report goes on to say that around 542.1 million accounts have posted at least one tweet since account creation.

Twopcharts has also revealed that there are currently 49.1 million protected accounts.
