Versata Enterprises, a provider of enterprise software systems, has agreed to buy Everest Software, a provider of retail and wholesale business management software.

Everest Software has developed a business management system for small and mid-sized businesses. Designed specifically for retail, wholesale and distribution companies, Everest automates all operations of a growing business including accounting, inventory management, eCommerce, services, sales force automation, CRM and point of sale.

After the acquisition, Everest will operate as a standalone entity with a customer service and product team. With a focus on customer success, the integration will begin with the implementation of Versata’s Customer Success program, focused on creating and maintaining successful customer relationships by aligning product development with customer priorities.

Edwin Miller, CEO of Everest, said: In the past two years Everest grew the top line of the company 26% while simultaneously restructuring expenses by over 50% – all while consistently improving the customer experience. Through Versata’s highly respected Customer Success program, we will continue to build upon the past two years of consistent improvement.

Versata, with a global presence covering 45 countries, focuses on hardware and associated maintenance, leveraging open source technology and accelerating value delivery to business customers.
