Unisys Corp says it has now finalized the strategic outsourcing contract it won in its home state of Pennsylvania. Under the terms of the $500m, seven-year agreement with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Unisys will consolidate up to 20 state agencies’ data centers into one centralized data center and provide ongoing management and operational support. There is an addition three- year extension option. The transition from agency-run data centers to the Unisys Data Center will begin immediately on an agency-by-agency basis, with completion expected to take one year.

In addition to outsourcing services, Unisys will provide the Commonwealth with computer hardware and software and rapid- response disaster recovery capabilities. The primary subcontractors working on the contract with Unisys include IBM Corp, Bell Atlantic Network Integrators and SunGard Data Systems Inc.
