Ultimate Corp seems to be making more money out of services these days than it does out of integrating Pick systems from a range of hardware bought in OEM, and the company now says that in addition to its previously announced writedown of $11.8m for its headquarters facility in East Hanover, New Jersey, it will vacate a number of other facilities, for which it will provide $1.5m and will also reserve another $2.5m for writing down other assets associated with its Pick business. It says its networking and consulting business, Computer Support of North America, has grown five-fold in the 18 months since acquisition, and it sees further good growth this year, while the Pick business has had to be cut back, although it stresses that it does not plan to kill it altogether.
