Tripwire locks down rogue network assets with Discovery Appliances

Solution provides a continuous comprehensive profile of all hardware and software on any network.

By CBR Staff Writer

Tripwire has introduced an application discovery solution called Tripwire Asset Discovery Appliances.

The solution provides built-in integration with Tripwire Enterprise, a real-time threat detection, security automation, compliance and configuration management solution.

The Tripwire Asset Discovery Appliance is capable of providing a comprehensive profile of all hardware and software on any network.

It provides full inventory of authorised and unauthorised devices and applications, in order to ensure a secure network.

Tripwire Asset Discovery Appliances will provide correlation of at-risk application and asset changes in Tripwire Enterprise.

Tipewire highlighted the growing security issues in enterprise networks by saying that organisations discover new security threats and exploits on their networks every day, with changing assets, applications and end-point configurations making previously secure networks vulnerable.

The company also highlighted that the new asset added to an organisation’s network must be quickly discovered and profiled to avoid security breaches.

Retail Cyber Intelligence Sharing Center executive director Brian Engle said: "Today’s organisations and networks are extremely complex and have evolved through rapid consolidation, acquisition and business expansion.

"The rate and pace of change escalates daily, creating voids of detailed information about the assets that are connected. Managing cyber security risks with this degree of complexity requires exceptional visibility as well as the need to quickly discover and evaluate digital asset changes."
