Customers will be able to ‘lease’ Exchange 2000 from Thus as opposed to them buying the software outright. Aside from product development, Thus will be responsible for sales and marketing, while Dell will provide a range of hardware and auxiliary infrastructure. Microsoft will supply both software and an operating platform through Windows 2000.
Thus is bringing to market an application that small and medium sized businesses have requested that will take away the concern of software upgrade paths and allow them to focus on their core business. The hosted service will be available to resellers and systems integrators, enabling them to focus on customer relationship management and business development.
With a suite of commerce and ASP services, organisations will be able to quickly enter new markets and focus on their core business, free from the cost and complexity of managing technology, said Donna Bullock, ASP marketing manager at Microsoft in a press release.
The Microsoft.NET tools offer a highly scaleable and reliable platform. Through working with development partners Aris and Dell we are building an environment that will make it quick and easy for companies to embrace the new economy, said Phil Male, executive director at Thus.
