The AG Group of Walnut Creek, California has announced its NetPatrol Pack, a bundle of network management offerings for monitoring and optimising multivendor local area networks: the NetPatrol Pack announcement coincides with a name change for AG’s NetAlert product, which is in future to be called Net Watchman; NetPatrol includes EtherPeek, an Ethernet network analyser, LocalPeek, a LocalTalk network analyser, and Net Watchman, an AppleTalk network monitor; Net Watchman monitors for irregularities, while EtherPeek and LocalPeek offer packet-level network analysis; they generate test traffic to diagnose and test configurations or hardware under varying loads, and include protocol decoders for most network protocols; the NetPatrol Pack costs $1,200 and is available this month.
