Another telecommunications specialist, Telespec Ltd, Rochester, Kent, has also been doing its preparation for 1992 by visiting a number of European countries with its roadshow. The team of two went around Europe, finding out the situation of various countries with regard the Single European Market in 1992 and exhibiting their new product range, which includes the Adaptel Digital Applications Processor, designed to enable a large number of applications to be addressed using the same hardware engine, and software applications, such as advanced teleconferencing equipment. Their findings suggest that each country has very different requirements and ideas regarding the arrival of 1992. Overall, Telespec feels that the response to its roadshows was successful, especially in Sweden and Holland, although it was already aware of an interest in Telespec products in these countries. In early November, Telespec is planning to visit Portugal with its roadshow, but it is waiting until next year before it tackles the more difficult and advanced markets in France, West Germany and Spain. The company has spent between UKP35,000 and UKP40,000 on its roadshows, but feels that they have been cost-effective. As a result of its studies, Telespec has a booklet, the Telespec Guide To European Telecommunications, which is available free from the Telespec Sales Department, which provides an overview of the present telecommunications situation in the countries of the European Community, as well as several chapters concerning Integrated Services Digital Networks and RACE developments.
